I always advise clients to try to book a couple of months in advance if they can, because my schedule may fill up (although if you’re on a tighter timeline, it’s always worth reaching out to me to check because cancellations do happen). Sometimes people ask in response, “Wow, you have photo shoots every day for the next two months?!” Thankfully, no, but instead I have a limit on the number of clients I book each month, and there are very important reasons for that - reasons that benefit every client I work with.

It’s no secret that there are a lot of independent photographers and photography studios in the Seattle area. So many of them do beautiful work, but everyone’s photos are just a bit different and have their own look and style to them. But beyond aesthetic differences, when you’re choosing a photographer for your family portraits or your branding photos or whatever it may be, another difference to consider is the experience you want with your photographer.

A lot of families get family portraits taken on a regular basis when their kids are little, and these are precious keepsakes that I know you treasure so deeply! But what often happens is that families take portraits less and less often as their kids become teenagers, and then when their kids are grown and no longer living with their parents, they stop taking family photos. And yet, as a family photographer, some of the family photo sessions that my clients appreciate most are those for families with adult children. Here’s why!
